Last week, Wingspan exhibited at the 2015 DIA Annual Meeting in Washington, DC. It is the largest annual industry event, and attendees represent every aspect of the life sciences industry. From small, single study pharmaceutical companies to the world’s largest CROs, professionals from every facet of the life sciences industry gather to learn about and discuss the future of health care collaboration and technology. At the event, Wingspan introduced our newest product – SiteZone, a platform to manage and improve workflow between sites, sponsors, and CROs.

SiteZone serves as a platform for sites to access, sign, and upload TMF documents without direct access into the eTMF. The system tracks the progress of individual sites, which drastically reduces the necessary number of CRA site visits. An optional gamification feature encourages competition among sites to complete tasks in a timely manner. By providing a secure, and easy-to-use portal for electronic site documents, SiteZone reduces overall paper document exchange. An electronic signature feature also eliminates the creation (and in turn, storage) of documents with a wet ink signature.

Many sites conduct multiple studies run by various sponsors and CROs. To simplify the use on a site level, Wingspan Technology manages the user credentials. Therefore, when a site user logs into the system, they are able to access all of their studies that have opted to use SiteZone, regardless of the sponsor.

Overall, SiteZone is designed to streamline and simplify collaboration between sites, sponsors, and CROs. It requires very minimal training. Upon their first login, site users will watch a short training video that explains the system. Featuring a clean layout and intuitive design, SiteZone is a familiar experience for any casual Internet user. It is designed to mimic an online shopping experience, and makes it easy and enjoyable for sites to complete and manage their trial tasks.
